Sewerage system of Kornagi Industrial area become under capacity: KATI

President Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Danish Khan expressed grave concerns over under capacity of half century old sewerage system of the area. He was addressing to a meeting attended by local administration representatives and industrialist held at KATI. Chairman& CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Vice President Maheen Salman, Chairman PTA Kamran Habib, VP Shaikh Muhammad Imran, DC Korangi Quratulain Memom, Vice Chairman Korangi District Syed Ahmer and other representatives of municipal and administration attended this meeting, held for discussing pertaining issues faced by Industries in the locality.

Danish Khan told that a sewerage line from Landhi, Korangi linked to PS II was laid during 1960s and after passing half century it got under capacity. He said that due to increased burden the sewerage system on Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) has defunct, there is an urgent need to overhaul the system. He also told the authorities concerns over non satisfactory situation of solid waste garbage lifting from the area.

Zubair Chhaya told that KSW&B was repairing the main sewerage line but this line couldn’t bear the burden of the area anymore, while KITE has already paid its share for the maintenance work. DC Korangi Quratulain Memon assured the industrialist to resolve all municipal issues face by industry with mutual understating and bringing all stack holder to find affective solutions. Chairman of Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) Kamran Habib also participated in the meeting and briefed about the problems faced by leather industry located in the area.
