The Minister for Maritime Affairs and a delegation from Kazakhstan discussed bilateral trade relations

On April 28, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Minister for Transport Mr. Karabayev Marat Karimzhanovich, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, at the KPT Head Office.

This meeting was part of a week-long visit by an expert delegation from Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening business relations with Pakistan, particularly in the maritime sector. The purpose of the meetings is to solidify ties with the Government of Pakistan and explore investment opportunities within the promising maritime sector.

The delegates received a comprehensive briefing on Pakistani ports, including KPT and PQA, which covered aspects such as regional connectivity, the strategic importance of Karachi Port, operational capabilities, and state-of-the-art facilities. This briefing was followed by discussions on business prospects and areas of mutual interest in trade and economic cooperation, with a focus on enhancing collaboration in the transportation and logistics sectors of both countries.

During their visit, Minister for Maritime Affairs Mr Junaid Anwar accompanied the Kazakh delegation, led by Minister Karabayev, on a tour of the port terminals. The delegates expressed a strong interest in port operations and the potential for future partnerships in the maritime sector. This significant visit is expected to pave the way for future interactions, investments, and mutually beneficial ventures.
