University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Pak Suzuki Motor are partners in research and development.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd. have agreed to collaborate in biogas technology and organic fertilizer research and development. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Sarwar Khan and Managing Director Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd. Hiroshi Kawamura duly signed the accord. The focal persons of the agreement include the Chairman, Department of Biochemistry/ Director, Punjab Bioenergy Institute (PBI) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anjum Zia from UAF, Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales Aamir Shaffi, and Manager, Business Development Fahad Qamar from PMSC.

As per the accord, UAF and Pak Suzuki will collaborate on cooperative research and development initiatives, including research and development on renewable energy, specifically Biogas Plants and Organic Fertilizers, resource exchanges, information transfer, and student training, to promote innovation and advance research, education, and community service.

Their cooperation includes designing and developing a biogas plant per international standards and purifying biogas up to 9599%. They will collaborate to design and develop organic fertilizer places and create organic fertilizer products, along with developing a sales channel for organic fertilizer products. They will engage students in collaborative projects. They will cooperate in research collaboration in areas of mutual interest, like international seminars, awareness campaigns, workshops, and conferences.

Hiroshi Kawamura added that they were committed to addressing the different issues for the people. He said that the MoU would produce tangible results to promote biogas and bio-fertilizers.
Dr Muhammad Sarwar said UAF was taking all possible measures to promote clean and green technology. He said it is housing the Punjab Bioenergy Institute (PBI), a step toward the flourishing of biogas. He said the solar system is in place in the varsity. He termed green technology crucial in an era of serious environmental degradation. He added that each inch of environmental depletion seriously threatens the ecosystem.

UAF experts including Dr. Muhammad Naveed, Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences; Prof. Dr Imran Arshad, Director ORIC; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kashif Saleemi, Director External Linkages ; Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Tabassum, Assistant Professor PBI; Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Consultant PBI, Dr. Muhammad Ghaffar Dogar, Consultant PBI and Pak Suzuki official including Ghulam Hussain Agha, General Manager Business Development; Fahad Qamar, Manager Business Development; Waqar Majeed, Manager Sales Management Central Punjab, and Syed Wajahat Ali, General Manager MKTG & Sales Central Punjab and others attended.
