Indus Motor Company Limited (Toyota) has become the first automotive company in Pakistan to plant one million trees, marking a significant milestone in environmental sustainability. 

This achievement completes Toyota’s Million Tree Plantation Project, a nationwide initiative that extends beyond its operations to schools, parks, and community spaces. The project aims to combat environmental challenges in Pakistan, such as rising temperatures and ecosystem degradation, by creating green spaces and promoting biodiversity.

In collaboration with the United Nations Association of Pakistan (UNAP) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Toyota has conducted plantation activities across Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad, including urban and coastal areas. The initiative focuses on diverse tree species such as mango, guava, neem, and others, tailored to local environmental needs.

Ali Asghar Jamali, CEO of Indus Motor Company, stated, “This milestone reflects our commitment to sustainability and contributing to a greener Pakistan.” The achievement was recognized during Toyota’s 35th anniversary celebrations, attended by representatives from Japan’s embassy and Toyota Motor Asia.
