Former Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and former Chairman of the Pakistan Ship’s Agents Association, Tariq Haleem, has congratulated S.M. Tanveer, a prominent Pakistani business leader, industrialist, and the Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group (UBG), on the successful organisation of the first Pakistan Economic Summit 2026, describing it as a historic and encouraging development for the country’s economy.
In his congratulatory message, Tariq Haleem said the Pakistan Economic Summit brought together industrialists, businessmen, exporters, investors, economists and policymakers from across the country on a single platform, laying the foundation for meaningful dialogue on Pakistan’s economic challenges and future opportunities. He said that under the leadership, vision and tireless efforts of S.M. Tanveer, the summit achieved remarkable success, and both he and the entire organising team deserve appreciation and congratulations for this significant achievement.
Haleem stressed that the Pakistan Economic Summit should not remain confined to the federal capital but should be transformed into a permanent national economic movement. He suggested that future editions of the summit should be hosted in all major industrial and commercial centres of the country, including Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Multan, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad, so that the economic potential, industrial strength, export capacity and investment opportunities of every region can be highlighted at the national level.
He further said that organising economic summits across different regions would strengthen coordination between the federal and provincial governments, the private sector, business organisations and investors. It would help promote local industries, increase exports, attract new investment and create employment opportunities. In addition, such forums would facilitate the development of practical and sustainable policy recommendations tailored to each region’s economic needs and challenges, thereby contributing significantly to Pakistan’s overall economic growth.
Expressing optimism about the future of the initiative, Tariq Haleem said the Pakistan Economic Summit has the potential to emerge as the country’s most credible and influential economic forum, playing a pivotal role in shaping national economic policies, promoting industrial stability, enhancing exports, attracting investment and supporting Pakistan’s long-term sustainable economic development.
