Syed Jarar Haider Kazmi appointed as CEO of PNSC

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has announced the appointment of Syed Jarar Haider Kazmi as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership transition in the country’s national maritime carrier.

According to an official notification issued by the Establishment Division of the Government of Pakistan, Mr. Kazmi’s appointment was finalized through notification No. 2/1/2013-E-6 dated April 30, 2025. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs further endorsed the development under notification No. 1(4)/2019-PNSC issued on the same date.

Mr. Kazmi brings extensive experience in maritime affairs and is expected to lead the Corporation through a period of strategic transformation as Pakistan continues to strengthen its maritime infrastructure and trade logistics.

The announcement has been formally communicated to the Pakistan Stock Exchange and the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for dissemination to market participants and TRE Certificate Holders.

Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, a state-owned entity, plays a critical role in the country’s seaborne trade operations and is integral to Pakistan’s supply chain, energy imports, and international freight services.

The Corporation’s Company Secretary, Muhammad Javid, signed off on the official correspondence notifying the change in leadership.

Industry observers see this appointment as a significant move, potentially heralding new initiatives and reforms within PNSC to enhance operational efficiency and global competitiveness.
