SECP FPCCI Women Entrepreneurs Committee agree on mutual cooperation for registration

The Women Entrepreneur Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) have agreed to provide awareness and all possible support to women entrepreneurs regarding registration with SECP. During the meeting, it was emphasised that women entrepreneurs should register their businesses with SECP and promote their ventures through digital marketing.

In the 8th Meeting of FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Women Entrepreneurs convened by Nazli Abid Nisar, Convener of the Committee, and Founder President of KWCCI Malir at FPCCI Head Office Karachi, which Shabbir Hasan Mansha and Riffat Malik Vice Presidents FPCCI graced.

The Additional Registrar of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Incharge CRO Karachi, Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Afzala Shaheen, SVP, Yasmin Arif, VP KWCCI Malir, Convenor Law Committee Lubna Aman Advocate, Dr. Javed Aziz Masudi, Chairman Dept. of Law & Director Oric SZABUL/Advocate High Court, Dr. Tehreem Farrukh, Associate Prof. of Law/Co-Chairman Dept. of Law & Director ORIC SZABUL Karachi, Mehwish Kayani, Afzala Yasmeen, Maimoona, Saira Khan, Afshan, Dr. Tuba, Sonia Bisma, Azra, and others also participated.

Nazli Abid Nisar, emphasised the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs by providing legal assistance and skills development opportunities. There was a call for increased awareness among women entrepreneurs about institutions like the SECP, TDAP, NADRA, etc.

Concerns were raised about women traders hesitating to register with SECP and obtain NTN due to the misconception that they must rely on male family members for registration. Nazli suggested that a one-window facility should be established at FPCCI to streamline the process, encompassing SECP, TADAP, and NADRA, to provide support and assistance, including obtaining passports for women traders.

The Additional Registrar of SECP, Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, assured full support from SECP and highlighted that women entrepreneurs can easily register online with SECP by paying a nominal fee of Rs.1500. He also explained the step-by-step process for business registration.

Vice President of FPCCI, Riffat Malik, praised Nazli Abid Nisar’s efforts in providing workshops and raising awareness for women entrepreneurs, particularly in the areas of health and digital marketing.

Advocate Dr. Javed Aziz Masudi provided detailed information to the women entrepreneurs about their inheritance rights.

Advocate Lubna Aman, Convener of the Law Committee of WCCI Malir, thanked all participants and stressed the importance of women entrepreneurs acquiring knowledge about women’s laws through online courses.
