PBA formed to contest FPCCI elections 2027-28

Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) Zubair Motiwala and Chairman Businessmen Panel (BMP) Mian Anjum Nisar have announced the formation of the Pakistan Businessmen Alliance (PBA) to jointly contest all positions, including the FPCCI presidency, in the 2027-28 elections.

Addressing a press conference at KCCI, the two leaders said the alliance would unite BMG, BMP and other like-minded groups to uphold democratic principles, transparency and the legitimate electoral rights of the business community. They said the alliance was formed following concerns over the rejection of nomination papers of Karachi Chamber and others, which they described as raising questions about fairness and Sindh’s representation in FPCCI.

The leaders pledged to continue their partnership beyond the elections to advocate economic reforms, industrialisation, exports, investment and employment generation. Motiwala stressed that Sindh’s turn for FPCCI leadership under the rotational arrangement must be respected, questioning attempts to support a candidate allegedly linked to another province. He urged chambers and trade bodies nationwide to support the rotational system and ensure fair representation, while reaffirming that KCCI would defend its rights through all available legal and regulatory forums if required.
