The monthly Salgirah Mushaira was held at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi on Friday evening. Poet Fazil Jameeli was the guest of honor whereas poetess Fatima Hassan presided the Mushaira.

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi launched an event named “Salgirah Mushaira. This Mushaira will be held every month, poets born in the month will present their poetry in the Mushaira .”I am grateful for the supporting gesture expressed by the members this year in the election” – Muhammad Ahmed Shah president of the Arts Council Pakistan Karachi. “We organize such events for our members, they are our family. We hold one or two mushairas in Urdu Conference every year but from now we will hold this salgirah Mushaira every month. The purpose of this Mushaira is to acknowledge the work of our member poets on their birthday” Ahmed Shah concluded.

In the first Mushaira of the year, 23 poets including Dr. Fatima Hassan, Fazil Jameeli, Qamar Warsi, Sabiha Saba, Sadia Hareem, Khalilullah Farooqi, Sohail Ahmed, Ishrat Godhravi, Tabassum Siddiqui, Abdul Hameed Saqi, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Nisar, Ummatul Hai Wafa, Irshad Ahmed Bhatti, Saaduddin Saad, Shehab Iqtedar Qadr, Zafar Bhopali, Iqbal Shah, Mohammad Azam, Jafar Mohammad Alam, Waheed Noor, Seeman Naveed Abbas, Majid Farid Saati, Prof. Minhaj-ul-Arif Presented their poetry.
