The Government of Punjab has unveiled an ambitious economic transformation plan to trigger a new wave of industrialization, attract investment, boost exports, and create employment opportunities across the province.

In an advertisement published in the national press on Thursday through the Bank of Punjab (BOP), the government outlined its “Punjab Economic Transformation Plan 2026-2029” under the PIVOT (Punjab Innovation for Value, Opportunity and Transformation) initiative. The three-year strategy aims to shift Punjab’s economy from large-scale production to large-scale value creation.

According to the advertisement, the plan aims to add 100 basis points to the province’s baseline GDP growth through total investment of Rs1.995 trillion, including Rs906 billion in private-sector investment. The initiative is projected to generate one million livelihoods and unlock an estimated $6.8 billion in additional export potential.

The plan rests on six strategic pillars: value-added export chains, international compliance, cluster infrastructure development, a competitive workforce, long-term financing and public-private partnerships (PPPs), and economic governance.

The announced incentives for industry include low-cost financing facilities of up to Rs300 billion, support for solar power and battery storage projects, import duty refunds for designated industrial estates, and subsidized land lease rates in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

The government also plans major investments in skills development, with more than 402,000 workers to receive training for domestic and international markets. In addition, the government plans to establish agro-processing parks in key agricultural districts to strengthen value-added exports and agro-industrial growth.

Industry stakeholders are expected to closely monitor the initiative’s implementation, which reflects Punjab’s broader strategy to enhance industrial competitiveness, attract investment, and expand the province’s export base over the coming years.

The advertisement directs investors and businesses to the official PIVOT portal and the Bank of Punjab for further details.
