PTS announces its election manifesto

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Shad Bad (PTS) released its manifesto for the election on Monday, in which it accorded priority to health, education, and the provision of jobs. The people of the country are disillusioned, the economy is in ruins, and the mafia is in full control of everything, it said. Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek Shadbad, Dr. Hanif Mughal, while addressing a meeting at the party secretariat, said that ending unrest in the country and controlling inflation are also among the priorities.

He said that there is political chaos in the country while the economy is on the verge of collapse. People are frustrated, and millions of skilled people are leaving the country to find a job. The chairman of the party noted that it has become difficult for the country to repay the loans or pay interest on the loans.

Pakistan has to borrow more to repay loans and liabilities while the masses are deprived of all kinds of facilities, but the taxes on them are constantly increasing.

Hanif Mughal said that the people are getting poor and food insecure at a rapid pace, while the elite are becoming rich due to the secret alliance between politicians and plunderers.

He said that the nation is experiencing a scarcity of qualified individuals, the number of children attending school is steadily falling, individuals are committing suicide as a result of the high cost of electricity, and that the agricultural nation is required to import commodities worth billions of dollars on an annual basis.

A large portion of the country’s population is food insecure, the majority is not getting healthcare facilities, clean drinking water has become a dream, masses are feeling neglected, the whole population is at the mercy of the mafia, some provinces are burning with a sense of deprivation, and relations with neighbouring countries are extremely strained.

A country in such gloomy circumstances cannot progress, and all the politics must be changed for good, he underlined.

He noted that production and exports are falling, millions are in search of jobs, inflation has taken a toll on the masses, and all economic and social indicators paint a disappointing picture.

Dr. Hanif Mughal said that a constitutional amendment is necessary to empower local government institutions. He also talked about other pressing issues facing the country, including taxation and climate change. Our manifesto calls for a uniform and just taxation system covering all sectors of the economy, especially agriculture, as every taxable income must be taxed.

Agriculture contributes 21 percent to the economy, but there is no tax on the big incomes of big feudal landlords.

He said that PTS will make the country a real welfare state by getting rid of the self-serving politicians, corrupt bureaucracy, and ruthless mafia.
