The Pakistan Coating Association (PCA) hosted a networking dinner at Avari Towers, Karachi, bringing together leading figures from the coatings and allied industries to foster collaboration and discuss the sector’s future direction.
The evening began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Abid Taqi, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Iftikhar Bashir Ch., Chairman, PCA, who emphasized unity under the association’s slogan “Mein Nahi Hum,” highlighting collective growth and sustainable progress in the coatings industry. He noted that the upcoming election provided an ideal opportunity to engage with PCA members, particularly from the South Region.
Mr. Moazzam Rasheed, Chairman, Bin Rasheed Group, reflected on PCA’s history and urged members to work together with strong synergy to achieve the association’s long-term goals. Mr. Muhammad Yousuf, CEO/Director, Yaksr Pvt. Ltd acknowledged the modest turnout due to the short notice but expressed optimism that future events would attract greater participation, reinforcing the need for a unified approach to address industry challenges.
Guest speaker Mian Anjum Nisar, Chairman BMP Group and former President FPCCI & LCCI, delivered an insightful address on Pakistan’s economic landscape. He stressed the importance of continuous engagement with policymakers to create a conducive environment for business growth and ease of doing business. “Those in power must take all industry stakeholders into confidence to ensure sustainable economic development,” he remarked, concluding with a patriotic “Pakistan Zindabad.”
Before closing the session, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad, Chairman Shalimar Group, proposed forming a Tax Recovery Committee and urged the government to reform tax collection mechanisms and the FBR structure to prevent undue harassment of the business community.
The event concluded with dinner, attended by representatives from Nelson Paint, Blue Bird Paint, Capricorn Associates, Yasir Enterprises, Raziki Agency, Ibrahim Enterprise, Archroma Pakistan, Mijokum Pvt. Ltd, Allied Impex, Gamaluz OleoChemicals, OMYAPACK Pvt. Ltd, Next Paint Industry, Polymer Products Corporation, Paradise International, and other industry players. Approximately 50 guests participated, marking another step toward strengthening cooperation within Pakistan’s coatings sector.
