Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves fall

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 19,534.8 million on 25-September-2020.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 12,359.7 million

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 7,175.1 million

Total liquid foreign reserves             : US$ 19,534.8 million

During the week ended 25-September-2020, SBP reserves decreased by US$ 342 million to US$ 12,359.7 million. This decline is attributed to government external debt payments, that amounted to US$ 311 million, and other official payments.
