Mazhar Hussain, Author and Researcher, makes his fourth book public

A collection of research articles on the social, political, and economic status of minorities, especially Muslims, in India, titled “Others in India”, has been released. This book is the latest work of renowned researcher and author Mazhar Hussain, in which he presents a scholarly and analytical review of the increasing segregation and discrimination faced by Muslims after the rise of Hindutva in India.

In the book, the author has tried to explain how the extremist ideologies of Hindutva have narrowed the space for non-Hindu communities in Indian society. According to Mazhar Hussain, the historical tradition of Brahminism, under which dissenting or non-conforming communities have been socially, politically, and economically isolated, has now taken a systematic form against Muslims. Today, Muslims in India, like Dalits, are forced to live in special settlements (ghettos), where they are being deprived of education, employment, and civic amenities.

“Others in India” is, in fact, a serious research effort that offers profound insights into the issues of religious tolerance, minority rights, and human equality in the region.

Mazhar Hussain’s previous books, “Hindutva Explained”, “Back to Gujarat”, and “India: A Nightmare for Muslim Women”

have also been published, receiving wide acclaim in both academic and journalistic circles. In these books, the author has presented an in-depth analysis of the emergence of Hindutva in India and its socio-political impacts.

“Others in India”

It is an essential resource for all readers interested in the situation of minorities, religious extremism, and social justice in South Asia.
