Law and order in Korangi will be maintained at any cost, SSP Shahjahan Khan

President Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Saleem-uz-Zaman said that Major crimes have been curbed in Karachi and the role of business community along with police, Rangers and law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order is commendable. From the establishment of law and order in the city to the current Corona situation, the role of the police has been exemplary on all occasions.

The police have performed well in difficult times and we are rightly proud of our police. The sacrifices of the police martyrs will never go in vain. He was addressing a luncheon in honor of newly appointed SSP Korangi Shahjahan Khan.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Korangi Arfan Salam, SSP Traffic Latif Siddiqui, DSP Traffic Malik Akhtar, Senior Vice President Zaki Ahmed Sharif, Vice President Nighat Awan, former presidents and chairmen of KATI Syed Johar Qandahari, Masood Naqi, Sheikh Fazal-e- Jalil, SM Yahya and others also expressed their views.

KATI President Saleem-uz-Zaman briefed the newly appointed SSP Korangi Shahjahan Khan on the economic significance and productivity of the Korangi Industrial Area. He said that at present the best officers have been deployed in Korangi who are working day and night with full commitment and good manners. Expressing his best wishes, President KATI said that he hoped that Shahjahan Khan would fulfill his new responsibilities in a very cheerful manner.

Addressing the function, SSP Korangi Shahjahan Khan said that the police stood by the business community. Law enforcement agencies will provide all kinds of protection to the business community for the economic development of the country. He said that traders and industrialists were playing a vital role in boosting the economy of the country and the police would take all possible steps for the development of the city and establishment of law and order.

Shahjahan Khan said KATI has always cooperated and assisted law enforcement agencies. All resources will be utilized to maintain law and order in Korangi. In this regard, it is hoped that in the discharge of duties in Korangi, we will do our utmost to rid the district of crime with the help of KATI.

On the occasion, KITE CEO Zubair Chhaya briefed SSP Shahjahan Khan about the law and order situation in Korangi Industrial Area and said that street crimes have increased since the end of Ramadan. He drew the attention of the concerned authorities to the expected rains and said that in view of heavy rains, the administration should complete the work of cleaning the drains soon so that there would be no disruption in the drainage process during the rains.

He further said that the traffic police should formulate a coordinated strategy to keep the flow of traffic in Korangi industrial areas in view of the forthcoming rains so as not to face the worst traffic jams like in previous years.

Chairman KATI Law and Order Standing Committee Danish Khan, said that there is an excellent link between KATI and the SSP’s office, which has created an atmosphere of trust between KATI’s members and the police. Industrialists appreciate the role of the police in Korangi.
