Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves increased to US$ 27.227 billion

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 27,227.7 million on 27-Aug-2021. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –

  1. Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 20,145.6 million
  2. Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks    : US$ 7,082.1 million
  3. Total liquid foreign reserves                 : US$ 27,227.7 million

During the week ended 27-Aug-2021, SBP received proceeds of IMF SDR allocation amounting to US$ 2,751.8 million. After accounting for external debt payments, reserves increased by US$ $ 2,567 million to US$ 20,145.6 million.
