Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Maritime Ports Administration SA, Port of Constanța, Romania, signed a landmark MoU to enhance maritime cooperation, trade connectivity, and economic ties.
The MoU was signed by the Chairman of KPT, Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed, and the General Manager of Constanța Port, Mr Mihai Teodorescu, in the presence of Romania’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Romania, as well as other diplomats and officials from both sides.
The agreement establishes collaboration in port operations, engineering, technology, finance, maritime education, and information exchange, leveraging the strategic importance of both ports as key regional gateways.
Chairman KPT highlighted ongoing initiatives to strengthen port services, while Romanian representatives underscored Constanța’s role as a major European hub. Both sides termed the partnership timely amid evolving global trade dynamics.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from H.E. Dr Dan Stoenescu, reaffirming Romania’s commitment to stronger maritime cooperation with Pakistan.
