KPT would like to clarify for record regarding a news published on 23rd September, 2019 in a section of press in respect of the Machar Colony and responsibility of KPT to remove the garbage and remarks reportedly made by Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah.

It is clarified that the removal of garbage from the city roads/streets is the responsibility of Solid Waste Management Board of Sindh Government. It may also be pointed out here that Macher Colony and it’s adjoining area Muhammadi Colony are the encroached areas, illegally occupied by different people with no lease made by KPT, even in the other properly leased areas of KPT, such as DHA, KEAMARI Town, West Wharf area with many industrial and other facilities, KPT does not provide garbage removal services.

Sindh Solid Waste Management Board under the executive control of Provincial Government remains responsible for removing the city garbage and to properly dispose it. Shifting of blame of inaction of Solid Waste Management Board to KPT is regrettable
