KE plans mitigation measures for 2021 monsoon season

“K-Electric’s Chief Executive Officer, Moonis Alvi, and Chief Distribution Officer, Amer Zia, visited the field to review the progress on the company’s plan for rain mitigation measures on critical infrastructure ahead of the 2021 monsoon season.

KE is investing PKR 1.5 billion to rehabilitate, elevate and reconstruct power distribution system in areas affected by inclement weather in 2020.

The project is on track and expected to be completed by June 2021. In addition to raising the height of vulnerable substations, KE is also installing aerial bundled cables, replacing deteriorated underground cable and aged switching gear with new equipment to protect the system and ensure a stable electricity supply for the citizens of Karachi”
