The Businessmen Group (BMG) has secured a resounding victory in the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Executive Committee Elections 2026–28, emerging overwhelmingly victorious in both the Corporate and Associate categories. According to the provisional election results announced by the Karachi Chamber, BMG candidates collectively secured 45,106 votes, compared with 5,006 votes obtained by the Businessmen Alliance (BMA), giving BMG an unprecedented 40,100-vote lead. BMG secured about 90 percent of the combined votes of the two principal panels, underscoring the overwhelming confidence the business and industrial community has in the group. In the Corporate Category, BMG secured 22,887 votes against BMA’s 2,421, establishing a commanding lead of 20,466 votes.
In the Associate Category, BMG obtained 22,219 votes, compared with 2,585 secured by BMA, resulting in a further lead of 19,634 votes. The results confirm the overwhelming mandate received by BMG, with its candidates securing all 15 Executive Committee seats in the Corporate Category and all 15 seats in the Associate Category. Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala, Vice Chairman BMG Anjum Nisar, Jawed Bilwani, Mian Abrar Ahmed, Tariq Yousuf, President KCCI Rehan Hanif, Senior Vice President Muhammad Raza, and Vice President Arif Lakhani expressed profound gratitude to the business community for turning out in large numbers and placing its confidence in BMG.
They also appreciated Arif Habib, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Jawed Happy, Maqsood Ismail, Saqib Fayaz, Anwar Karim, Yaqoob Karim Hanif Gauher, Rizwan Irfan, Mohsin Shekhani, Hassan Bakhsi, and other leading businessmen and industrialists who promptly responded without a second thought and cast their votes in favour of BMG candidates. “We are deeply grateful to each and every voter who came out in such large numbers and cast their votes in favour of BMG. This overwhelming mandate and the amazing margin of nearly 90 percent is a matter of great honour and responsibility for us”, said Zubair Motiwala.
He said the BMG leadership bows its head before Allah Almighty for granting this victory and reaffirmed its commitment to serving Karachi and its business community with renewed determination. “During our meetings and engagements with the business community, we made a commitment to Karachi, and today we reaffirm that commitment. We will work with even greater zeal and dedication for Karachi, and a major part of our attention and efforts during the next six months will be devoted to the city and its economic development”, Motiwala said. He also thanked BMG’s supporters, well-wishers and the entire business community for their continued trust and confidence. “BMG has been serving the business community for the last 28 years, and this mandate has further strengthened our resolve to continue working for the betterment of Karachi and Pakistan’s economy,” he added.
