Sheikh Umer Rehan was elected unopposed as President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). Syed Farrukh Ali Qandhari was elected Senior Vice President, and Nasir Sheikh was named Vice President. The Election Commission, led by Syed Johar Ali Qandhari and including Syed Farukh Mazhar and Sheikh Fazal Jalil, announced the newly elected office-bearers and Executive Committee members.

Unopposed Executive Committee members include Zahid Saeed, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Rehan Javed, Faizan Javed, Sohail Ilyas, Sohail Elahi, Shabbir Balwani, Yasir Gulzar, Syed Safwan Akif Hussain, Atif Iqbal, Karim Teli, Syed Hasnain Mazhar, and Muhammad Shafi. Amber Ali was also elected unopposed for the reserved seat for women.

Sheikh Umer Rehan previously served as KATI President and effectively represented the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. He also served as Chairman of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA). Upon his election, Sheikh Umer Rehan thanked Patron-in-Chief S. M. Tanveer, Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, former chairmen & presidents, and the Executive Committee members. He pledged to earn the trust of industrialists and the business community. He emphasized that KATI would advocate effectively to resolve industry issues, improve the business environment, promote exports, and boost industrial activity.

He said promoting industry is vital to strengthening the national economy. KATI will continue working to solve industrialists’ problems and ensure proper coordination between the government and business community. He expressed that the new Executive Committee would focus on advancing industry and trade through collaboration and a unified strategy.
