KATI urges for a national economic agenda

President Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Danish Khan, Chairman & CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vicer President Faraz-Ur-Rehman and Vice President Maheen Salman urged to define a national agenda on economy in a joint statement. President KATI Danish Khan said that according to IMF inflation in Pakistan could hit the highest level of 14 pc till June in next year. He showed concern that due to these circumstances common people and business community would have face worst situations. He urged that to recover national economy there is need to bring an agenda apart from any political affiliations. He was of view that in his first speech after success in general election the PM Imran Khan vowed to take measures for lower production cost of industry, “we hope he will act according to his words to the nation” he said.

Zubair Chhaya added that higher cost of production emerged as the biggest challenge for industrial section during last decade and cause great lose to our exports. He noted that due to this basic problem the large crisis of trade deficit and insufficiency of foreign reserves expended to the extent that rupee become devalue and again we are compelled to get bailouts. Chhaya said that the only way towards economic independence is to promote industry at home. KATI urged the federal government to take immediate measures to address dropping down exports.
