Installation of Modern CCTV Cameras Begins in Hyderabad: HSATI

Chairman of the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI), Zubair Ghangra, has termed the installation of modern CCTV cameras across Hyderabad a timely and highly important initiative to improve law and order and promote commercial and industrial activities in the city. He said that with the growing population and expanding business activities, a modern surveillance system had become an urgent necessity for a major commercial and industrial city like Hyderabad.

He stated that under this initiative, launched through the collaboration of Hyderabad Police, the district administration, and the business community, approximately 600 CCTV cameras will be installed at key and sensitive locations across the city. Out of these, 120 cameras will be placed at the entry and exit points of Hyderabad. These 8-megapixel, 360-degree-view cameras will be installed at major intersections, markets, commercial centres, petrol pumps, educational institutions, and government offices to ensure an effective, integrated monitoring system throughout the city.

Chairman Zubair Ghangra further informed that DIG Hyderabad, Tariq Razzak Dharejo, has appointed him as the District Chief for the Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts for this project. At the same time, well-known social personality Imran Seharwardi has been nominated as the Deputy Chief. He said that under this responsibility, they will work closely with the police, district administration, and the business community to strengthen coordination and ensure the project’s successful and timely completion.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzak Dharejo said that cameras will be installed at various locations across the city within the next three months, and, if required, the number may be increased from 600 to 800. He explained that the initiative has been inspired by the Community Policing Karachi model, in which the police, district administration, and business community collectively work to strengthen the security system and prevent crime in the city.

The DIG further stated that once the Sindh Government’s Safe City Project is approved, the cameras installed under this initiative will be integrated into the larger network, further strengthening Hyderabad’s security infrastructure.

Chairman Zubair Ghangra also emphasised that the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry will continue to extend its full cooperation to the police and district administration to ensure the timely completion of this project. He reaffirmed that the business community will always play a positive role in maintaining peace, stability, and development in the city. He expressed hope that this strong collaboration between the police, administration, and business community will prove to be a significant step towards making Hyderabad a safe, modern, and business-friendly city.

On the occasion, Chief Community Policing Karachi  Murad Ali Soni, SSP Hyderabad  Shazeb Chachar, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad  Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, Senior Vice Chairman SITE Association  Aamir Shehab, along with police officers, district administration officials, traders, and representatives of various business organisations, also attended the ceremony and termed the initiative a positive step towards improving law and order in the city.
