CEO IMC, Ali Asghar Jamali expressed, “Pakistan has one of the world’s highest child mortality rates. According to UNICEF, over 1,000 children below the age of 5 years die every day, 80% owing to

preventable causes. Our CSR program, Concern Beyond Cars, aims at initiatives that are sustainable with a visible impact and this partnership with The ChildLife Foundation is one such instance. Tele-Resuscitation is very revolutionary and the soon to be set-up, Resus Telemedicine Room at the Children’s ER at the country’s leading tertiary care hospitals, PIMS, will offer not only easy accessibility but also open a whole new world for paediatric care for children living in the twin cities, Gilgit-Baltistan and KPK.”

Dr. Ahson Rabbani, CEO of ChildLife Foundation, said, “Indus Motor Company’s contribution will go directly towards setting up the Resuscitation Room with life-saving medical equipment in ChildLife’s newly modernized children’s Emergency Room in PIMS, Islamabad. This is where the most critically ill children will be given free of cost, quality emergency treatment. The support we have received from Indus Motor is commendable and we look forward to nurturing an enduring partnership with them to build a child-safe Pakistan.”

The leading causes of death among children in Pakistan, under the age of 5 years are preterm birth complications, pneumonia, diarrhea, birth asphyxia and malaria and most of these deaths can be prevented by simple, low-cost interventions. Better health facilities specially improvement in emergency care can significantly reduce preventable deaths.
