Habib University holds ninth convocation, graduates its largest-ever class

Habib University celebrated its ninth Convocation, graduating a record 276 students. The event highlighted the institution’s commitment to liberal arts education and to producing ethically conscious leaders. The Class of 2026 showcased diversity, with 50.4% women and 85% on scholarships.
Valedictorian Syed Shaheer Abbas Rizvi emphasized the value of holistic education. Mudassir Sheikha, CEO of Careem, urged graduates to embrace challenges and build solutions rather than seek comfort.
President Wasif Rizvi called for humility and purpose over self-promotion, rooted in the university’s philosophy of Yohsin and Tawazu. Chancellor Muhammad Habib encouraged a love for country and human connectivity, while Jameel Ahmad, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, highlighted the need for creative problem-solving in light of economic challenges.
Nehal Hashmi, the Governor of Sindh, framed their education as a responsibility for shaping the nation’s future. The graduating class actively contributed to society, with 100 of their final projects addressing social issues in collaboration with industry partners.
