Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs, Communication & Railway visits Gwadar port city.

To closely monitor and evaluate the progress of development initiatives in Gwadar, Capt. (R) Shahid Ashraf Tarar, the Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs, Communication & Railway, undertook a comprehensive two-day visit to the port city. Accompanied by Federal Secretary Maritime, Dr. Iram Anjum Khan, the visit aimed to gain firsthand insights into the ongoing projects shaping the future of Gwadar.

Upon his arrival at Gwadar Airport, Minister Tarar was warmly welcomed by Chairman Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), Mr Passand Khan Buledi, and other government officials. The visit commenced with an inspection of the recently completed Eastbay Expressway and the Desalination Plant within the Free Zone Area.

A pivotal aspect of the visit included a detailed meeting held at the GPA Head Office Center, where Chairman GPA, Mr. Passand Khan Buledi, provided an extensive briefing to Minister Tarar on the progress of various GPA projects. The discussion encompassed updates on the Gwadar Port Free Zone and the comprehensive Gwadar Port Master Plan, shedding light on the strategic vision for the city’s maritime future.

The Minister visited the Maintenance Dredging site at Gwadar Port Channel to gain a deeper understanding of the practical challenges and advancements. During this visit, he received a comprehensive briefing on the latest updates and encountered challenges faced during the execution of the dredging project.

Minister Tarar expressed his satisfaction with the pace of development and the commitment displayed by the Gwadar Port Authority in realizing the ambitious projects. The visit underscored the government’s dedication to fostering sustainable growth and enhancing connectivity through strategic maritime and communication initiatives in the Gwadar region.
