EFP condoles demise of President Zaki Ahmed Khan

With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to our President Zaki Ahmed Khan, who passed away on Saturday, 3rd June 2023. He was the longest serving as the Vice President and EFP Focal Person for ILO with a relentless and passionate dedication to the progress and values of EFP. Mr. Zaki has been the Vice President continuously under three Presidents since 2012 and has been a member of the Managing Committee / Board of Directors of EFP since 2007. He was a Substitute Member of the Governing Body of ILO.

He was also the President of the Pakistan Institute of Human Resource Management and Convener of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Human Resource & Legal Affairs. He had more than 35 years of professional experience in Industrial Relations, HR, and Legal Affairs in various reputed multinational and national companies.

During his tenure in EFP, Zaki Ahmed Khan took upon himself the responsibility of organizing all signature events and took the lead in ensuring the financial sustainability of EFP. During the COVID-Pandemic crisis, he ensured that EFP remained active through direct contact with governments, workers, employers, and ILO. This enabled EFP to continue service to members.

Mr. Zaki was also actively involved in the pharmaceutical field and was widely known for his social and welfare activities. He was a highly regarded associate and a beloved companion. He excelled in championing the rights of employees and remained steadfast in representing employers’ concerns.

His comprehension of the nuances of labour legislation and rules was profound, and his capacity to navigate intricate matters was genuinely extraordinary. Workers and employers will commemorate and value his unyielding commitment to advancing just and impartial procedures.

The EFP Board of Directors and the Secretariat sincerely condolences to Zaki Ahmed Khan’s family.
