The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in collaboration with the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liaison Office Karachi, hosted a Chinese Film Screening at Auditorium I to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event was attended by H.E. Yang Yundong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, and various other dignitaries.
The ceremony featured the national anthems of both countries, a song celebrating their friendship, and a cake-cutting ceremony. The film “The Shadow Chaser,” starring Jackie Chan, was screened.
President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, emphasized the deep cultural ties and strong bond between Pakistan and China, stating that their relationship is built on more than just trade. H.E. Yang Yundong highlighted the significance of this longstanding friendship, calling for enhanced cooperation across sectors to build a brighter future, especially for the youth of both countries.
Director General (MOFA) Irfan Soomro noted that the partnership extends beyond individual relations, serving as a model for development through discipline and investment in human resources.
At the ceremony, President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmed Shah presented bouquets on behalf of the Arts Council to chief guest, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Yang Yundong and Director General MOFA Muhammad Irfan Soomro.
