Pakistan posted a Current Account Deficit (CAD) of USD 276mn during the month of Nov’22 compared to a deficit of USD 1,929mn during Nov’21, which declined by 86% YoY.
On MoM basis, CAD decreased by 51% in Nov’22, against USD 569mn CAD of Oct’22.
On a YoY basis, the primary reason behind the decline in deficit during Nov’22 was a 32% YoY decline in total imports. However, during the month, the total exports and worker’s remittances also decreased by 13% YoY and 14% YoY, respectively.
With the out-going month’s numbers, the country’s deficit during 5MFY23 decreased by 57% to USD 3.1bn compared with a deficit of USD 7.2bn during the same period last year.
