ATC Holdings & National Foods attribute PKR 60+ million for flood relief

 ATC Holdings & its subsidiary National Foods Limited have always been at the forefront of community development. With the national catastrophic floods engulfing one third of Pakistan, the Boards of both companies have approved a sum of PKR 55 million to begin flood relief immediately. Additionally, the group has created a dedicated account for employee contribution, leading to additional collection of PKR 8 million so far. This takes the total to over PKR 60 million to help affectees.

The group is executing relief efforts through partnerships with multiple organizations including Karachi Relief Trust (KRT), Hisaar Foundation, TCF & ChildLife Foundation. The Group aspires to reach all affected communities of our country. Our immediate response included supplies to communal kitchens in the province of Sindh; namely Sukkur, Sakrand, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Mehrabpur, Khairpur and providing ration packs, household goods in Balochistan. We are collaborating with experts to support the medical camps set up for affectees. Equipment and insecticides for tackling the immediate danger from mosquitoes have also been donated, taking the total utilization to PKR 9 million so far.

CEO ATC Holdings & Chairman National Foods, Mr. Zahid Majeed, along with Board Director Mr. Adam Fahy Majeed, recently visited interior Sindh to participate in the relief efforts and extend support to the impacted communities. Medicines comprising of antibiotics, IVs, pain killers and multivitamins were provided and a medical camp in National Foods’ name shall also be set up shortly.     

“Pakistan contains more glacial ice than any other country outside the polar regions. This combined with heavy rains has severely impacted Pakistan in terms of climate change. In the spirit of being truly National, I urge both local and international communities to come together and help the nation in this unprecedented crisis,” said Zahid Majeed.
