A mixed session was recorded at the PSX today.

· A mixed session was recorded at the PSX today. The benchmark KSE-100 index opened in the green, but due to the Pak rupee and US Dollar parity, the market had volatile activity and ended the day in the red. Investors are cautious about the rumours about new taxes in the forthcoming budget. Volumes remained decent across the board as third-tier equities continued to dominate.

· The index closed at 41,029.67 down by 87.65pts (-0.21% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Technology & Communication (-69.3pts), Commercial Banks (-22.8pts), Textile Composite (-10.6pts), Pharmaceuticals (-8.3pts), and Leather & Tanneries (-7.0pts).

· Volumes increased from 105.6mn shares to 125.3mn shares (+18.7% DoD). The average traded value also increased by 57.4% to USD 14.1mn as against USD 9.0mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are GATM, PRL, WTL, GRR and MLCF.
