KPT handles 170,096 tonnes of cargo in 24 hours

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) maintained robust and efficient maritime operations, handling 170,096 metric tonnes of cargo during the 24-hour period from 0700 hours on 30 September to 0700 hours on 1 October 2026.

The cargo throughput comprised 116,649 tonnes of imports and 53,447 tonnes of exports. Containerised cargo accounted for 115,064 tonnes, while total dry cargo stood at 167,396 tonnes and liquid cargo at 2,700 tonnes.

During the period, 19 ships remained berthed, while 5 vessels sailed. A further 4 ships were positioned outside the port limits (OPL).

The Port’s operations included handling containerised cargo, bulk commodities, cement, clinker, lentils, rice, and soya bean seeds, reflecting sustained and diversified maritime trade activity.

For the next 24 hours, 12 vessel arrivals and 3 sailings are expected at Karachi Port, indicating continued momentum in port operations and maritime connectivity
