President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Tariq Malik has urged the banking sector of Pakistan to come forward to play their role in development of Industry, while he was talking to a high level delegation of Bank Alfalah here at KATI. He said that Industry, export and SMEs sectors were facing a lot of challenges and rising cost of doing business and production is now become a threat to them, to support industry would be appreciated as a service to national cause.
Tariq Malik said that Banking sector of Pakistan flourished remarkably , now this is time for the sector to focus SMEs, because it wasn’t get due focus in past years.
On this occasion Vice President of KATI JunaidNaqi, Former Presidents, Rashid Siddiqui, Farukh Mazher, SM Yahya, Akbar Farooqui and others also expressed their views. Bank Alfalah was represented by Bilal Asghar, Group Head of Corporate, investment & International Business, Mahreen Ahmed, Group Head of Retail Banking, Syed Ali Sultan, Group Head of Treasury, Capital, Market & Financial Institutions, Adeel Ahmed Khan, Area Manager Korangi Industrial Area and other senior officials of Bank Alfalah.
Tariq Malik urged that in current economic conditions Banks should come forward to provide suitable lending offers and products to the industry and especially for the SMEs Sector, because this is one of the viable tool to fight back poverty and unemployment in the country. Rashidh Siddiqui said that for the import of machinery and revamping of Industrial unites bank should introduce more effective products for the industrial sector. Bank Alfalah Group Head of Retail Banking Mahreen Ahmed said that from the day one Bank Alfalah has made its identity as a businessmen’s Bank.
She told that the Bank Alfalah is the largest bank, providing Lending and other products for the industry and SMEs. She said that delicate department of the bank offers consultation, advisory, awareness services to SMEs. She said that Patron in chief of KATI SM Muneer is one of the most respected figures among the Banking community of Pakistan.
