Pakistan leather and footwear industry have been impacted by lockdown in country for the last fifteen days to stop spread of Coronavirus pandemic. A large number of factories of leather, footwear, textiles, garments, cements and other manufacturing products are closed. Import and export of commercial items are almost suspended.

Pakistan largest footwear manufacture and exporters – Bata Pakistan has informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on April 02 that in order to comply with the directives issued by Government of Pakistan and provincial Governments relating to the outbreak of COVlD 19 across Pakistan, the Company has closed its operations including me Head Office, Factories, Regional Offices and Read Slam throughout Pakistan until further notice by the respective governments.

Earlier, in view of negative impact of Coronavirus on leather industry of Pakistan, the country tanners seek special relief package for Leather Sector of Pakistan as exports to Europe and USA has been suspended.
