·      Today at the PSX, a range-bound session was recorded. The market opened in the green and traded within the same range as investor participation remained sluggish due to the continuous depreciation of the PKR against the USD, causing the benchmark KSE-100 to close the trading day in the red zone. Volumes remained reasonable across the board.

·      The index closed at 40,619.94 pts, down by 53.12 pts (-0.13% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Miscellaneous (-82.8pts), E&P’s (-35.4pts), Technology & Communication (-22.1pts), Fertilizer (-11.2pts), and OMCs (-6.1pts).

·      Volumes decreased from 153.3mn shares to 131mn shares (-14.6% DoD). The average traded value also decreased by 21.3% to USD 21.9mn as against USD 27.7mn.

·      Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are PPL, GATM, PIAA, HBL and OGDC.
