· The week closed off in green at the PSX today. The opening session was volatile as investors remained cautious owing to the political uncertainty in the country mostly trading in the red. However, in the second session, the bulls mustered up some courage and took fresh positions to add value to their portfolios, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector as the KSE 100 ended the trading session in green with decent volumes across the board.

· The index closed at 41,599.18 up by 157.11pts (+0.38% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include E&P’s (+57.9pts), Miscellaneous (+22.8pts), Cement (+18.8pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+16.5pts), and Pharmaceuticals (+15.8pts).

· Volumes increased from 101.3mn shares to 120.4mn shares (+18.8% DoD). The average traded value also increased by +9.5% to USD 11.5mn as against USD 10.5mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are WTL, AIRLINK, SEARL, UNITY and PPL.
