·        The market traded in the green zone as the fertilizer sector remained in the limelight due to price increase. Investors hunted for value buying throughout the day. CPI for the month of Jun’22 clocked in at 21.32% YoY (6.43% MoM). This takes FY22 average inflation to 12.09% YoY compared to 8.90% in FY21. Highest YoY inflation post re-basing of CPI basket.

·        The Index closed at 41,630.35pts, up by 89.52pts (+0.22% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Banks (+94.5pts), Fertilizer (+50.0pts), OMC’s (+13.0pts), Textile (+6.1pts) and Real Estate Investment (2.7pts).

·        Volumes decreased from 192.9mn shares to 154.0mn shares (-20.1% DoD). Average traded value also increased by 40.6% to reach US$ 19.7mn as against US$ 33.1mn.

·        Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are AGL, ANL, GTECH, TPLP and HUMNL.
