Former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt, said on Friday that the economic situation will improve after elections as PML-N is expected to form the government after elections.

The overall economic conditions will improve, CPEC will take a boost, and relations with China, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other Arab nations will improve if PML-N comes to power, he said.

However, he said, improving relations with Iran and Afghanistan would be challenging as ties with these neighbours have remained troubled.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said in a statement issued here today that the masses are hoping that PML-N will reduce inflation, unemployment and cost of living and improve overall economic conditions.

PML-N has always paid more attention to the economy than other parties, and the PML-N government will accelerate work on CPEC.

He said that in the present situation, the visit of the Chinese vice Foreign Minister is of paramount importance, and he has renewed his commitment to completing the CPEC.

So far, only 27 projects have been completed under CPEC, while 63 projects are still pending and must be completed by the new government as soon as possible, he said.
