Tetra Pak and WWF-Pakistan recognise Lahore school for carton recycling achievement

Tetra Pak Pakistan and WWF-Pakistan recently honored Crescent Model Girls High School in Lahore for collecting 173 kg of used beverage cartons through their Recycling Awareness Project. The school, recognized as the Central Region winner, received furniture made from recycled Tetra Pak cartons at a ceremony on October 29, 2026.

The event featured a recap of the school’s collection efforts, a quiz with Tetra Pak’s mascot, Captain Dubloo, and a student-led mime performance on water conservation. Muhammad Bin Shahzad from Tetra Pak emphasized that today’s students are change makers who can positively impact their communities.

Hammad Naqi Khan from WWF-Pakistan noted that the school’s actions demonstrate how awareness can lead to responsibility. The project, running since 2017, has held 79 awareness sessions across multiple cities and encouraged students to collect and recycle used cartons.

With 47 schools participating, Crescent Model Girls High School emerged as the leader, collecting approximately 12,110 cartons. This initiative supports WWF-Pakistan’s broader goal of integrating environmental practices into the education system and highlights the urgent need for sustainable waste management, as global waste is projected to increase significantly by 2050.
