Sukkur IBA University, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) under the ITC-GRASP Project, successfully conducted a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Micro Agro-Entrepreneurship at ICMA Hyderabad Campus on February 3-4, 2025.
The training was led by Mr. Ikhtiar Ahmed Khoso, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Incubation (CELI) at Sukkur IBA University, and attended by professionals from diverse sectors, including universities, NGOs, government institutions, trade associations, and social development organizations, all with a shared commitment to advancing agricultural entrepreneurship.
The ToT program was designed to equip participants with advanced skills in training and mentoring agro-entrepreneurs, enabling them to drive economic growth in rural communities. Sessions focused on: Fundamentals of Agro-Entrepreneurship, Facilitation Techniques for Master Trainers, Minimum Viable Products (MVP) in Agricultural Commodities, Essential Business Skills & Financial Planning for Agri-Businesses, and Drafting Effective Training Plans for Future Entrepreneurs The training featured interactive discussions, practical exercises, and role-playing activities, ensuring that participants could apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ikhtiar Ahmed Khoso emphasized the crucial role of trained facilitators in transforming Pakistan’s agricultural landscape. He stated, “By training the trainers, we are creating a multiplier effect that will empower countless aspiring agro-entrepreneurs. These professionals will now play a key role in mentoring individuals, helping them establish and scale their agribusiness ventures, and ultimately contributing to national food security and economic growth.”
At the conclusion of the program, certificates were distributed among participants, recognizing their dedication and commitment to supporting the next generation of agro-entrepreneurs. This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s vision for rural economic empowerment, aiming to foster innovation, sustainability, and business development in the agriculture sector. Through this training, Sukkur IBA University, SMEDA, and ITC-GRASP reaffirm their commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s agribusiness ecosystem and promoting entrepreneurial opportunities for sustainable growth.
