Standard Chartered Pakistan’s achievements in diversity & inclusion

Standard Chartered Pakistan earned two prestigious awards in June 2025 for its outstanding work in diversity and inclusion. The Bank received the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Diamond Recognition Award from the Employer’s Federation of Pakistan and was recognised at the inaugural Pakistan PWDs Inclusion Awards for its efforts in accessible documentation and employment for women with disabilities.

With an industry-leading diversity ratio of 29%, Standard Chartered Pakistan is committed to fostering a diverse workplace. The Bank has sponsored the largest career fair for individuals with disabilities, connecting over 900 job seekers with more than 40 employers.

 

Additionally, it has initiated a roundtable for banking HR heads to promote disability-confident hiring and sponsored ‘HuroofAccess25,’ focusing on the financial and workplace inclusion of persons with disabilities. Staff are receiving upskilling in sign language, and a virtual sign language interpretation app is available at select branches. Yasir Khwaja, Head of HR at SC Pakistan, emphasised the importance of inclusive culture as a competitive advantage, highlighting the strategic nature of their inclusive practices in fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.
