SSGC powered Government Sandeman High School, Quetta, by establishing a computer laboratory

Under its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Sui Southern Gas Company facilitated Government Sandeman High School, Quetta, by providing financial support to the school in setting up a computer laboratory for its less privileged students. SSGC provided financial assistance for the procurement of 20 desktop computers and LCDs along with other practical equipment / peripheral items required for the school’s Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories.

Government Sandeman High School, established in the year 1882, is one of the historic and famous schools of Quetta, as it is the pioneer of public schools in the provincial capital. Led by its dynamic Principal, Dr Naseer Ali Shah, over the years, the school has become a synonym for quality education.

The computer laboratory was formally inaugurated by SSGC’s Head of Corporate Communications and CSR, Salman A. Siddiqui, during a simple yet impressive ceremony organized by the school administration. He was joined by SSGC’s Chief Manager HSE Mr. Amir Dutani, CCD’s Dy. Managers Safdar Hussain and Syed Sadaf Abbas. Soon after the inauguration, dua was offered.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Siddiqui said that over the years, SSGC has joined hands with non-profit organizations and government institutions focusing on quality of education through vocational education, besides the regular conventional education. He anticipated that by using emerging technologies, through these computers, the lesser privileged students of Balochistan will benefit to a great extent by enabling themselves to rise as future entrepreneurs. He applauded the teachers’ and students’ passion and dedication for creating an excellent academic environment in the school.

On this occasion, the Vice Principal of the School, Mr Jahangir, and his team comprising of Senior Science Teachers Mr Khayal Mohammad, Mr Ahsan Jameel, Mr Akbar Gharsheen and Mr Lutfullah took SSGC’s team on a guided tour of the school where in the computer laboratory the boys were busy in taking their computer classes. The Vice Principal thanked SSGC for gifting computers to their students from marginalized communities and said that it would help enhance the skills of these less privileged but extremely talented boys.
