SMUTA’s newly elected cabinet takes oath at SMIU

The newly elected cabinet of the Sindh Madressatul Islam University Teachers Association (SMUTA) took the oath at a ceremony held at the Senate Hall of Sindh Madressatul Islam University. Speaking on the occasion, newly elected SMUTA President Wafa Mansoor said that the cabinet would play an active role in protecting teachers’ legitimate rights, maintaining their professional dignity and promoting their welfare. He said SMUTA would continue its efforts to secure teachers’ rightful rights and benefits while working to foster a respectful, supportive and conducive professional environment at the university.

Wafa Mansoor said the new cabinet would take practical steps to resolve teachers’ professional issues through mutual consultation, collective efforts and democratic principles. She added that the cabinet would build on the efforts of its predecessors, further strengthen the association and work collectively for the welfare of university teachers.

SMUTA Press Secretary Khalid Hassan also appreciated the services of former President Asif Hussain Samoo and former Vice President Qurat-ul-Ain Nazeer. He paid tribute to their efforts in establishing the association and promoting teachers’ interests.

The new cabinet was elected unopposed through a democratic process. It comprises Wafa Mansoor as president, Azeem Inam as vice president, Dr Inayatullah Magsi as general secretary, Wajiha Naeem as joint secretary, Muzaffar Shah as finance secretary and Khalid Hassan as press secretary.

The oath-taking ceremony marked the beginning of the new cabinet’s term. On the occasion, the participants expressed renewed commitment to teachers’ welfare, professional dignity, institutional harmony and the protection of teachers’ rights.
