The Pakistan Society of Human Resource Management (PSHRM) and Engage Consulting recently hosted the ‘Best Place to Work Awards Gala 2023’ at Beach Luxury Hotel, marking 15 years of celebrating workplace excellence in Pakistan. This event, with over 140 participating companies underscored the importance of fostering exceptional workplace cultures.

The awards were based on anonymous survey data evaluating employee experiences in belonging, alignment, growth, commitment, and overcoming challenges. Mr. Paul Keijzer, CEO of Engage Consulting, emphasised the survey’s credibility and the significance of data-driven approaches in shaping future workplaces.

Among the 52 awards distributed, ‘Allied Bank’ received the prestigious ‘Best of the Best Company 2023’ award. DHL Express was honoured with the ‘Best Place to Work Pakistan Hall of Fame’ award for winning the top prize five consecutive times.

Interloop served as the Platinum Sponsor, while EBM, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), and Samsons Group of Companies were Gold Sponsors. Novo Nordisk, Allied Bank, and The Talent Games acted as Silver Sponsors, with Syngenta, Bank Alfalah, Engro Fertilizers, Jubilee Life Insurance, S&P Global, and Mashreq Global as Bronze sponsors.

Mr. Ehsan Ali Malik, CEO of Pakistan Business Council, delivered an insightful keynote speech on creating conducive work environments, followed by Mr. Jamal Nasir, President of PSHRM, reflecting on the legacy of the awards since their inception in 2008.

Renowned actor and theatre director Mr Omair Rana hosted the event, adding charisma to the proceedings, and entertainment was abundant with a live music performance by Natasha Baig and the comedic talents of Shafaat Ali.

This year saw a significant increase in participation, with over 300 companies nominating, reflecting the growing commitment of organisations to prioritise employee well-being and engagement.
