Sheikh Umer Rehan has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) for 2024-26. Alongside him, Asjad Arif and Khalid Islam Sheikh were unanimously elected as Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively.
Sheikh Umer Rehan, a highly respected figure in business circles, previously held prominent positions such as President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and Advisor to the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). His extensive experience in leadership roles has earned him a strong reputation within the industry.
The Secretary General of PVMA officially announced the election results during the 80th Annual General Body Meeting, held at the FPCCI Capital House in Islamabad. Members and the Executive Committee of PVMA congratulated Sheikh Umer Rehan on his unopposed election, expressing confidence that his vast experience would help address the pressing challenges faced by the ghee and cooking oil sectors.
At the event, outgoing Chairman Sheikh Abdul Razzak bid farewell, while incoming Chairman Sheikh Umer Rehan was welcomed to his new role. Both leaders spoke about the industry’s difficulties, including regulatory hurdles and market pressures. In his address, Sheikh Umer Rehan thanked the members for their trust and assured them that he would work diligently to prioritize and resolve the industry’s issues.
The election of Sheikh Umer Rehan marks the beginning of a new chapter for PVMA. The business community hopes that his leadership will lead to effective solutions for the industry’s challenges.
