Shah Latif Town, residents caught stealing huge gas volumes.

SSGC’s Customer Relations Department (CRD) cracked down on domestic gas customers in Sector 17-C, Shah Latif Town, Karachi, who were stealing gas through rubber pipes. A total of 6,720 cubic meters of gas per year were being stolen through 7 domestic connections. The team dismantled the illegal connections, and claims are being raised.

In Larkana, Jacobabad, and Shikarpur, SSGC’s anti-gas theft raiding teams dismantled more than 15 illegal underground and overhead domestic connections. During the operations, rubber pipes and clamps used in theft were removed. Theft claims will soon be raised.

Meanwhile, after hearing the arguments of SSGC Counsel, the Sindh High Court dismissed the post-arrest bail application of the accused, Mairaj-ud-Din, and sent him to jail. He had caused the loss of Rs. 3,125,000/- to SSGC by stealing gas to run his New Karachi hotel. The accused was nominated in an FIR lodged at SSGC Police Station.
