Federal Secretary Communications Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui chaired a meeting in the Ministry of Communication today with the leading Consulting Firms of the country; engaged in various projects with National Highway Authority (NHA) and National Transport Research Centre (NTRC).

Chairman National Highway Authority Mr. Jawwad Rafique Malik and other Senior Officers from the Ministry, NHA and NTRC also attended the meeting. Secretary Communications acknowledged the role of the Consultants for both the Client and the Contractor and emphasized upon the importance of Consultants for timely completion of projects. Participants of the meeting appreciated the step taken by the Secretary by calling this meeting which provided them with a platform where they could voice their problems.

Secretary Communications also listened to various problems being faced by the Consultants. Suggestions were put forth by some of the participants that were noted for consideration. He stressed upon them to work in close liaison with the Client and keep a vigilant eye on Project Design and Execution. Proper planning and design on the basis of site conditions is a pre-requisite for efficient project management. They were advised to bring in innovation and also support good practices for BOT projects. He encouraged the representatives of the Consulting firms to give best performance under available resources with full commitment and sincerity for the benefit and relief of the Public.
