SBP reserves decreased by US$ 415 million, mainly due to external debt repayment.

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 24,633.0 million on 17-December-2021. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

  • Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 18,153.7 million
  • Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks    : US$ 6,479.3 million
  • Total liquid foreign reserves                 : US$ 24,633.0 million

During the week ended 17-December-2021, SBP reserves decreased by US$ 415 million to US$ 18,153.7 million, mainly due to external debt repayment.
