Saudi business tycoon and renowned philanthropist Sheikh Saleh Kamel expired

Mian Anjum Nisar President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry deeply grieved on the sad demise of prominent ICCIA President and Saudi business tycoon and renowned philanthropist Sheikh Saleh Kamel and said that this irreparable loss has left a great vacuum in the business and philanthropic realm in the entire Islamic world.

President FPCCI stated that Sheikh Saleh Kamel was a person of high stature and has built a reputation that showed various facets of his character. Rising from humble beginning, he built a fortune to become one of the most honored businessmen through his acumen and strenuous hard work.

Sheikh Saleh was also known as “the father of contemporary Islamic finance” and was bestowed upon Malaysia’s Royal Award for Islamic Finance in November 2010.He was actively involved in efforts to expand trade among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries. He was a member of the boards of trustees and directors in many social, charitable and cultural societies and foundations such as the Arab Thought Foundation, King Abdul Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Gifted, the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Zakat Foundation, the International Academy for info & Media Sciences, Arab Academy for Financial & Banking and the Islamic Solidarity fund.

Sheikh Saleh Kamel was also the president of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Council of Saudi Chambers and Federation of GCC Chambers.

Mian Anjum Nisar President FPCCI said that the death of the Late Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel is a great loss to the business community of the Islamic world. He devoted his entire life to serve the Ummah in various ways. He was pioneer in Islamic Banking, Media and many sectors and worked hard for the economic development of the Islamic world. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) conveys its condolences to his family, the Saudi Business Community and to all the members of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Mian Anjum Nisar President FPCCI, Vice Presidents, Member Executive Committee and General Body FPCCI, Business Community of Pakistan and FPCCI Secretariat pray to Almighty Allah to Grant his departed soul Peace and Mercy and an upper place in Jannat-ul-Firdouse along with the Martyrs and Righteous People, and to grant his family and all his near and dear ones patience and solace.
