Saquib H. Shirazi elected Chairman PAMA for FY2022-23

Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has elected Saquib H. Shirazi, President and CEO of Atlas Honda, as the new Chairman for 2022-23 in elections held on 30 September 2022. Mr Sohail Bashir Rana, Executive Director, Millat Tractors and Mr Masafumi Harano, Managing Director, Pak Suzuki Motors, were elected as Sr. Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, with other members of the executive committee.

Mr Saquib H. Shirazi, President & CEO of Atlas Honda, has been elected as the Chairman of PAMA for the third time. Mr Shirazi is part of the Atlas Group, a leading player in the automotive sector with a presence in both OEM and Auto Part Making. Atlas is recognized as a leading proponent of localization in the country.

In his acceptance remarks, Saquib Shirazi praised the services of the outgoing Chairman, Ahmad Kuli Khan Khattak. He thanked the members for reposing confidence in him. He resolved to uphold the interests of all stakeholders, including OEMs, part makers, dealers and customers.

Speaking on occasion, Abdul Waheed Khan, DG PAMA, paid rich tributes to Mr Ahmad Kuli Khan and Mr Saquib Shirazi. He recalled the latter’s previous successful tenures as Chairman, adding that Saquib Shirazi was the right person to lead the Association in these challenging and testing times.

Mr. Khan added that the economic situation calls for a knowledgeable and respected personality to take the lead in steering the industry. Close communication, coordination and cooperation between the Government and other auto sector stakeholders were the need of the hour. The members welcomed the incoming Chairman and expressed confidence in his leadership.
